I am selling 2 PCM 350/310 closed water cooled engines and a guy has just asked me what would be involved to put these in his boat that had for 302's hooked up to his Cobra sx outdrives.

I have never had an I/O so what should I advise him?

Thanks

To be clear, I have the complete engines up to the bell housing that was used to bolt on a borg warner.

Yes, ford and chevy are never interchangeable...

What I am trying to find out what "everything" is. I assume a new bell housing, but what more is there to it? Is it feasible, or cost prohibitive? Are the parts he needs generally available used?

Coupler, bellhousing, exhaust manifolds, risers, hoses and elbows to adapt to the Y pipe, power steering hoses, raw water pump setup, the SX does not have a raw water pump in it.

This assumes that the PCM engines (Missed that at first  ) have complete starting, ignition, charging, and fuel system installed, as the Ford stuff will not fit on the Chevy.

The motors are complete, so it looks like he will only need bellhousing and coupler... He is in Miami so I am sure he will have no trouble finding what he needs.

Good news, thanks for the help.

Nope, he's going to need starters, and exhaust system. Those manifolds will not work the his exhaust Y, the type you have there are similar to the Pre-SX Volvo style manifolds, not the newer OMC/Volvo manifolds for the SX.
It also looks like the intake manifolds have angles built in to keep the carb level since inboard engines sit at an angle, unlike outdrive engines. Those heat exchangers will also have to be moved to clear the exhaust Y. There is very little room aft of the flywheel on IO engines.

All kindsa fit Issue there,...

The guy needin' the OMC should just grab a long block, 'n use his accessories....

He could easily go to a 351 Ford longblock as well, but I think Rick is trying to part with his Chevy 350's that aren't anywhere near setup for outdrives.
