I was wondering what the average weight of my boat with trailer are dry/wet. I purchased it last week from a private seller.

1989 19ft Sunbird cuddy cabin
1989 Johnson 110HP w/ power tilt
19 foot galvanized trailer single axle.

Thanks.

Trailer is probably in the 500# range depending on type.

Re: What's my weight

I just weighed my boat the other day. It's an 19ft '89 runabout with 4.3L V6Mercruiser Alpha One. I had it all loaded like I was going to put it in the water. My total weight with galvanized trailer was 3500 pounds.

You probably could find a place to weigh it if you really wanted to know. Here in Missouri we have these farm suppliers that weigh trucks full of grain. They weighed my boat for me.

If you google "Cat Scales" you can find a weigh scale near you that will weigh your boat. These are truck stops that have weigh scales for truckers. I took my boat over and unhitched it and weighed it. The DMV here required it to get my trailer registered in NM. It was real easy and cost about $10. My boat is a 94 bayliner1750 with a 3.0 mercruiser and on the trailer it was 2780# without gear or gas. The trailer alone was 525#.

Something to think about...if you need to get a wieght on your trailer for the dmv and they make you take it to a scale it is a hassel. Here they wanted the weight of the trailer not the weight of the trailer and boat. The nearest lake is 3 hours from me...I can't drop my boat in the lake and drive back to weigh just the trailer..I told the dmv guy this..he had no answer accept that this is what he needed. I wasn't about to do this so instead I tried something else. I went over to Uhual and rented a small vehicle tow trailer($20). It weighed about 400#. I then took it over to the weigh station and had them weigh it. They never asked about the trailer and gave me a ticket with its weight which said nothing about the specific trailer. I took that ticket to the DMV and told them it was for my trailer and they took it. Because they charge taxes here based on the weight of your trailer I actually saved a little money by taking them a receipt for a trailer that was actually 125# less than mine. It was not my intent to save money, just didn't want to deal with all the hassel.
