i am going out on the water and going a long distance. i dug out my spare tank which i thought was completely
empty i looked inside and along one side and in one corner i have what looks like maple syrup. its not alot but its enough that i know i cant put gas in it like that. so my question is what is the best way to clean out my plastic gas tank?

If it's a little bit. few quarts to a gallon of gasoline sloshed around should clean it out. Gasoline itself is a great solvent, and considering it costs the same for a gallon of gas as it does for 12-24oz ( spray can ) of petroleum based cleaner, it's actually dirt cheap

Add a few 1/2" nuts and bolts to the mix, and slosh them around, they will help break up the goo.
