I am re-packing my wheel bearings and would like your opinions on wheel bearing grease. (specifically Super Tech from Wallyworld)

On a previous boat that I owned many years ago, I used Lubrimatic wheel bearing grease so I still have a little of that my grease gun. It seemed to be pretty good grease so I wanted to stick with it.

I know you are not supposed to mix grease types so I went looking for a tub and some additional tubes of Lubrimatic. I tried a couple of marine dealers, several auto parts stores, and Wallyworld. I could not find any.

Wallyworld sells their own house brand which is Super Tech. That grease looks to be a light amber color and looks like it might even be thicker than what I've used in the past. To me, it just doesn't look quite right to be marine wheel bearing grease. (Although I do like the price compared to the Evinrude/Mercury brands sold at the marine dealers.)

I would like to find a grease that is readily available and one I don't have to search around just to buy a certain brand of grease. The Super Tech would be easy to come by since it is sold at Wallyworld. I'd rather have Lubrimatic but I can't seem to find it without ordering it and having to pay shipping.) Has anyone ever used the Super Tech marine wheel bearing grease? What do you think of it?

Thank you

The grease does not make a whole lot of difference as long as it is water proof and is made for wheel bearings.

The trick is to keep water away from it.

Yes, the trailer does have Bearing Buddies. I have new grease seals ready to go. Thanks for your opinions on the grease. I have a couple more questions regarding the axle and bearing condition which I will post to a new thread shortly.

Thanks
