What minimum psi should I look for in a grease gun to grease my trailer wheel bearings? 6,000 psi enough or do I need 7,000 psi or more. What about for hitting hinge and gimbal bearing zerk fittings?

I don't know what the pressure is on my grease gun, but I doubt it's anything like 6000 PSI and I doubt that it matters as long as it can force the grease past the spring-loaded ball in the tip of the zerk fitting....

I agree 6000 psi sounds high, but all the ones I was looking at where a min of 6000 psi max for a 14oz cartridge.

unless there is a problem, you will never need more than about 1000 psi

the 6000 psi guns are for tensioning the tracks on caterpillar bulldozers

Thanks Scott...so the one with max 7000 psi that had a picture of a boat on it is probably overkill? :) glad I can scale it back.
