When? 9R-72m Johnson

I own my grandfathers old boat and motors.I would like to know how old the motor is.It's a 9.5 Johnson model 9R-72M.The only thing I know about it is that it still runs like a top.I've owned it for the last 14 years,I put a new fuel pump and coils on it in 1995.
I also have a 5 horse model LD-11R,that needs some lower end repair.
Any info on these motors would be greatly appreciated.

Your 9.5 is a 1972.

I have nothing on a LD-11R 5HP.

9R72 = 1972 9.5hp Johnson

LD11R = 1966 5hp Johnson

I knew my grandpa bought the boat new in '72,but,my dad said that the 9.5 came later.
I'm proud to own the first boat I fished out of 40 yrs ago.It's a 14 ft Lund.
