Well, think you got banged up a little.

Get a manual specifically for your motor — service manual is best, but a parts manual with be a big help too (Ebay?). Don’t fix what ain’t broke, or make simple fixes more complicated than they are. A simple fix (e.g., that shift rod link and checking position of the lower rod) may be all that ails the shifting function.

Go by the parts diagram in post 51 to try and identify the bushing you mention. Think in terms of what parts you may have moved or adjusted. (My guess would be #25/26/27 in the diagram, although I’m not sure how you might have affected those.)

There's no reason to believe the upper rod is an issue, unlike something you might have run across in a uTube somewhere.

Only thing I did was pull the lower unit completely off. And I looked up the motor where the drive shaft goes and seen a rubber seal was pulled down some. So son just straightened it out. I was just asking about the seal. That was why I posted a diagram of upper part. I can put the shifting rod back together after parts come in. I will buy a service manual. Does it matter which manual? Like who made it?

That fixed it. Found out the lower shift rod was to far up. Which I am thinking guy that changed pump couldn't get screw in so he made rod taller to get it. Thank you for your help
