I am curious why your 5.7 has a two barrel and my 5.0 has a four. Maybe a PO tried to save himself some $$$? Can't put anything past them. I sent mine back to Holley for a rebuild after my fuel tank episode. I seem to recall it costing $150 plus shipping. Who else would know them better? A 4150 was going for $500 at my local boat shoppe. Shortly thereafter it shut down due to clogged inlet screen. My fuel filter was water corroded too, and it sent crud up the line. Do a compression check yet? My engine lost performance gradually and my engine shoppe told me I had exhaust valve issues when they rebuilt it. The Holley website shows where the numbers are hidden and how to send it in for a rebuild. Good luck.

Because you have a lot older engine than he does.

If you remove the fuel pump, you may find the screen inside the pump inlet is partially plugged with paint. It's been happening to the older Volvo's with electric fuel pumps. Seems any paint inside the filter housing is not dealing well with the new ethanol fuels.

I've taken the fuel pump off, and the screen looks fine. Unless theres a way to take this screen off and look inside, theres nothing clogging this thing up. I've checked everything going from the fuel tank up, so my assumption is this carb (unless of course something inside the fuel pump is clogged)

OK UPDATE, NEED ADVISE PEOPLE :)
--------------------------
Carburetor 1
Carburetor 2

So after research and finding out I have a 4BL intake with a horrible 2BL carb that I dont wanna rebuild... I wanna buy a new one. I've decided between these two carbs. I have a few questions.

1. My current carb has a two connections, obviously the fuel line from the pump and another line. The other line goes from the valve cover and goes to my 2BL. Neither of these two carbs appear to have this kind of connection. What does this valve cover hose do? Can it be plugged if these two carbs dont have that? Any consequences in doing so?

2. My current 2BL carb has a positive and negative connector for the electric choke. both of these only have one connection which I'd assume is positive. Would I just ground the other one?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but im learning! Id rather learn then pay so that in the future I can do it myself :)

Thanks guys

What about the hose going from my valve cover to my carburetor. I dont think either of these have them. Would I just plug the valve cover, or ?

Like i said Im not familiar with Volvo penta stuff. Upon looking in the catalog for info i could not find anything under the #'s you provided.

I did see a picture for your intake manifold # and it conflicted with the other picture i saw earlier. You need to slow down a bit before you buy stuff you cant use. Take a picture of what you have or listen to someone who knows V/P stuff.

The big line running to the carb. from the valve cover could be a PCV line. It appears some V/P use them. Most Mercruisers do not.
