I have a '74 4 hp merc that parts are getting harder and harder to find. I found one place on the 'net but they are on vacation! I need soft parts, gaskets and fuel hoses. Any help out there?

Most of it should still be available from mercury. Otherwise, ebay.

Many of the "soft parts" are readily available from Mercury, as well as Sierra Marine parts through NAPA, West Marine, iBoats, etc. Fuel hoses are much easier to redo yourself with standard issue brass NPT elbows, hose, hose clamps, etc. available at your local hardware store. You might even find someone who does the original style crimped hoses through a Hot Rod shop, as they use that type of hose on a lot of cars...

- Scott
