I am getting ready to rebuild 1985 2.6 XP Evinrude it has one scuffed cylinder. Was just wondering where the best place to get a rebuild kit for it.

Yep....make sure you mike the cylinders before ordering as sleeves are really thin and have a tendency to be out of round. Water cooling system has to be top notch on this motor or it will fail again.

Don't know if you will be able to get new pistons with the scallops in them or not. When I overhauled mine, I had to purchase the basic big bore piston from Bombardier and have a local machine shop cut the scallop out to match the original pistons. The original engine had composite reeds in it, so check to be sure your overhaul "kit" will come with them. If not just purchase a set. You will want to do a autopsy on the engine to determine why your liner scuffed. Esp check the carb half that feeds the damaged cyl. Make sure the 3 jets are not restricted (causing that cyl to run lean.)
