It sure is, it is a dial bore gauge what that needs to be set correctly is size blocks with gauge ends set to the bore STD size, then you check the bore for over size, taper, roundness. Fowler makes a decent dial indicator for the money and they are not expensive. I have several in my box in the shop and they pass calibration every year....Geez....that Snap-on product that's linked to seems to be something completely different.
Can someone provide links to "middle of the road" dial indicators that will work for Mercury engines?
Better than Harbor freight...but not "industrial grade"?
