Hi again people,

I just bought a new OMC anode
p/n 173029

Its just a small rectangle with two screw holes..

Where is the best place to put this baby? I don't want corrosion ruining my new paintjob....

I'd try putting it behind the trim tab, but there isn't alot of room...

It should be under the cav plate right?

many thanks..

rgds

Frank

Re: Where to put the anode?

Well, since noone answered this, I took a guess and bolted it under the cav plate slightly in front of the prop and as far to the side as it would go...

Will it do its job there? or should I move it?

rgds

Frank

Hi Franki
I know you gave a part# for your anode. I couldn't find a pic of it. If it is the one Iam thinking of. You might want to flip it to the top of the cavition plate. Using the same holes. There are so many styles of anodes this is just a guess.

HI Mr Alcan,,

The anode is about 1 1/2 inchs long.. probably not much more then half an inch wide..
the edges taper alittle, so its not a perfect block...

wouldn't it be out of the water at speed if it was on top of the cav plate?

scuse my ignorance.. I have never owned anything with a sacrifical anode.. :)

rgds

frank
