wheres all the sand come from?

just took my second 1 drive apart for a impeller. both had the shift shaft area totaly filled with sand.

that's about a third of it. the other 2/3rds i used a screwdrive on to remove into the thrash can. why does it plug up like that. it's filled up all the way to the top on both of them. the p hole don't p. till i clean it out. after cleanin, both have good flow. first one in thought was cause of leavein it in the drink all summer long?????? tied to the dock. this aristocrat i have no past history on........

have you pulled up on a beach lately???, or ran in shallow water with a sandy bottom??

nope. i do run the missouri river. it has much sand suspended in it. but not that much i don't think, and i don't run the river be a few times a year.......it's a trailer boat too...............lets say it this way. my alimiunum prop has the edges polished. not the flat surface at all, it's still oem black.........

sorry ziggy, I have no idea, but I would have to guess that you sucked it up some where, I have never heard of suspending sand in water before??? except up close to shore, the sand out here in california must be heavier and sinks right away

yep, ya can scoop up a handfull of water and let it bleed thru yer hand and it'll leave sand behind. the sand is beautifull for beach partyin, very fine. when it's wet in the river it's pretty much mud and ya sink in it. weird stuff........
