Which 2004 mercruiser V-8 is this??

I only have a guess based on the survey for our new 2004 Rinker that this is a 5.7 300hp ver. If there were engine serial numbers on the risers/manifolds then they were not transferred when the risers were replaced last season. The plastic engine cover has some basic data but none of it engine HP specs. There are no other ser engine numbers or plate that I can find and the company hasn't been responding to my emails for the original invoice from the HID# either. The original 2004 brochure showed these boats as shipped with a 300hp but I'm wondering if there has been an engine swap in the boats history. For the sake of ordering parts in the future I'd assume that serial numbers would be useful if I could find them.

Don, I guess I'm saying that I can't find any numbers that would narrow my search. Can you give me a location to find something specific that would tell me what I have?

Just read another post of yours that said a plate is aft and above the starter. If that's the secret spot i'll cram a camera back in there and see what we have.

Installers who don't put the serial number tags (kindly supplied by Mercury specifically for that purpose) on the engine cover need slapping!!! It takes 30 seconds and it's not a brain-strain exercise. That really pis..es me off!!!

Found this sticker down on the block underneath by the starter. What do these numbers mean to you guys?


There were two other stickers back on the bell housing at the transom but could barely even get a tiny camera in there (but here's one below).

The engine compartment looks very clean so I'm thinking it's the original engine that only reads 210hrs at the dash gauge. It's running fine and the former owner poured a ton of money on it with all the receipts to prove it but since I'll be doing all the future service and preventative work I like to know what I have and feel fine working on just about anything.

'350 MPI Bravo 3'.... That is a 300hp engine, original from Mercury. And appears (by the model number) to be 2004...

I wouldn't go by the cleanliness of the engine bay... My engine bay is cleaner than the day I bought my boat, and this is its 3rd engine...
