Which Gear Oil to use

Hello all

I just got a boat with the purchase of a house and was tuning to up and stuff. I am at the stage where changing the Gear oil in the leg is next. I was just wondering which oil to use in the gear case of a 1974 70hp Johnson Power Shift 2

A guy I know told me that his old Johnson took Type C and I wanted to check brefore I put the wrong stuff in. I have been searching it on the net but cant find it.

Evinrude HI-VIS will work just fine.

The problem is there is no Evenrude dealer around where I live. The closest one is 2 hrs away.

Have you got a NAPA auto parts store close, they carry the SIERRA brand that will work for your engine.

Make sure you get the same as HI-VIS. I've never delt with NAPA.
