Which is #1 psiton on V4, V6, V8?

Specifically for a 1986 225hp Evinrude, but for any model really. What is the #1 piston? Is it the top port or top starboard Cylinder?

Top cylinder starboard(right) side on all.

Top starboard cylinder on any V model.
