Which Lower Unit Did Bayliner Use On The L-drive

I have a 1989 Bayliner Capri with the Force 120 hp L-Drive. I know I know not the best. I have had my share of problems Believe Me. Here is the question

Which Lower Unit Did They Put On This Config????

Also I have Had Problems with The Exhaust Bellows Burning thru and allowing water to flood the boat, the first time I just thought the bellows were old and were brittle but I put a new one on and was fine idling down river to the lake but as soon as I got past the piers/no wake zone I opened up the throttle and it burned thru again???

I noticed some of the parts diagrams show a hose to carry water to the exhaust manifold from the bottom plate under the motor that mine did not have. there are 4 pipe plugs in the exhaust manifold instead should I have this hose or not???

A 120/89 probably a 125?
They used a different lower on the L-drive
It can swap with only a couple of other drives.
The 85/90 the gear ratio is different.
120 will swap if it's a 1990.
According to the parts there are 4 plugs.
You sure it's puming enough water?
Does the overheat alarm system work?
Try grounding out the orange lead on the head,key on.

Not gonna go into how bad these things are but you need to get a different boat.

Not Really Sure What HP 120 or 125 It Is Just Going By What I was Told by P.O. I didn't know it had a overheat alarm. I will try to short the wire like you said and see. I ended up welding the steering knuckle and re boring it for bearings and seals, also re did the u-joints and driveshaft also the bearing was gone out of the tilt portion of the lowerunit. So I had to replace that and the seal also

From What I have Read it must be a 125 the 120 was in 1990 correct

okay I didn't see an orange wire where would it be??? And wouldn't the overheat alarm have a buzzer or audible alarm located somewhere???? There is a brown wire coming out of the head and it looks like the end of an auto condenser, This goes thru a fuse and then is connected to an orange wire. Is That it???
