I Have a 6 cyclinder inline mercrusier engine thats 165 hp. I will be pulling tubes and skiers. Right now i have a 21 pitch prop. Would switching to a 19 make for a better hole shot ? And i wont be over reving it Theres noo need to go fast.

The 21 prop thats on there is dinged up and one blade is a little outa wack.( prev owner, Has little bend ) How much does this affect the prefomace ?

There is no way to evaulate the dinged up prop.
The main problem is vibration and balance prolonged use of a damaged prop can damage bearings and seals in the gear case.A very expensive repair compared to a prop repair.You could probabnly have your prop fixed for about 60 or $70.
Yes a 19 should improve hole shot.You may have to watch over reving
and keep that in mind if those other than yourself might operate it.

Yes, a dinged up outa whack prop can affect performance. How much depends on how dinged up and outa whack. Only way to know is swap for a good prop.

Generally speaking, by dropping from a 21P to a 19P you'll get more oomph for pulling and possibly a better hole shot, at the potential cost of a few mph top end and the risk of over revving.

That's why it's best to know the WOT spec. for your motor, and compare that to the actual WOT you're getting now. Use that information to decide on what pitch is best. You also have to know that any percieved lack of performance is not due to some non prop related issue.

The 21 should give a reasonable evaluation. But if its a different brand and style
it may perform differently than your existing 21 if healthy.
