Forgot to mention that I have one of those cheapie digital tachs and it reads the same as my mechanical one does at lower rpms (under 3,000). Haven't checked it on the water but don't want to run it higher than that on muffs.

Also, speed was checked with GPS every time, as I don't have a speedo on the boat.

Put on a new tach today... read the same as the old one. Looked down at the cavitation plate while on plane and I gotta say it seemed low if anything. Admittedly I'm new at the whole where's the proper motor height game, but this is just weird now. I'm going to move the motor tomorrow morning and see what happens.
