I have been all over trying to find a definitive answer to what temp sensor to use in my 1997 OMC/Volvo Penta 4.3 GL. Really would prefer to go with Sierra if at all possible.

Thank yall in advance for taking the time to read through and offer any help.

Right now I have this Datcon part:

If your temp gauge works off the USA standard (240-33 ohms) then most will work so long as the thread size is the same. Being a 97 GM 4.3 you should be able to use one, but check it out first. Also make sure your gauge is work.

What's it doing? Water Temperature Ohms Reading
140? F (60? C) 121-147
194? F (90? C) 47-55
212? F (100? C) 36-41

Well the one I had was reading fine. I just managed to mangle it when I was trying to get it out of the old intake manifold and move it to the new one.

My problem is that I'm not 100% on the difference between single and dual station versions.

The single station has one set of gauges per engine.
The dual station has two sets of gauges per engine.

Basically the dual station is half the resistance of the single station because it is feeding two gauges with one sender. This is used in most cases for setups which have fly bridges.
