I was running my motor in a test tank and i'm getting a white milky substance out of the exhaust ports above the fin. Anyone got a clue whats going on here? I was also trying a new vro pump out, i mixed my gas and oil and noticed i was getting excess smoke from the exhaust ports. I think this guy sold me a bad pump. My plugs look white and my block seems to be hotter than usual. Just about new motor time with extended warranty, this thing has just about whooped me. Glad i didn't take it to the lake i probably would have popped this thing.

I don't like to run in a test tank, it's only for a test and not for extended running, unless you have some kind of professional tank with fresh cold water recirculation, you will run the engine hot and you also recirculate all that unburnt fuel and oil that makes the mess your experiencing.

Bob it is a good idea to premix gas, until you are sure the pump is working properly. you check oil usage against gallon burned. better than blowing up a motor.

JT, you will get smoke, because you are double oiling, vro is oiling, and you are using premixed gas.

Thank you, makes sense now. I put it i the test tank to adjust the idle screws. Yeah it seemed to run a little hot. I won't be testing it in a tank anymore. All's well, now tashasdaddy whats it going to take to get you up here to nashville to fix this thing? Just kidding, i'm about at my wits end though. This thing is driving me insane.

Get that thing on the water and run it, do a decarb with seafoam and run it some more, it may be loaded up with carbon from tinkering around, then tweek it in and see how it responds.

I hope this is a reasonable question and I'm not missing something obvious. Why not put premix in the oil tank and then you would not be getting too much oil and you could still monitor consumption/mix rate? Rick.
