Re: Who has been picked up

If I have time and don't think I'm going to get my throat slit, I always give people rides, even if they don't speak english. I'm not bold enought to hitchhike though. One problem with picking people up is they always want more. One guy tried to convice me to buy some messed up sunglasses from jim that he fournd for $20, another woman wanted me to drive an extra 45 miles to her house.

Re: Who has been picked up

My Grand Pop was told by the Doctor he needed to walk about a mile a day for his heart. He was retired, and had been the Marshal in a small Mississippi town most of his life. This was one of those towns with one traffic lite, and you could almost see all the way around the city limits.<br /><br />Every time he started out walking, he'd get to the end of his yard, and the next car that came by would stop.<br /><br />"Where ya going"? They'd all ask.<br /><br />He'd tell them,,,, "Just down to the end of the street"..<br /><br />It happened with every single car that passed,,,, the driver would ask him where he was going, and then say, "Well, hop in, I'll give ya a ride".<br /><br />He finally had to get a excersise bike.
