Yep, when the battery guy used to come around to our shop and restock our shelf he brought in batteries with no label. Then he just stuck on the appropriate label. Revealed secret: The "marine" batteries just had different labels than the car batteries sold down the street.

Some shady companies might try that but surely not going to be around long.
I'm sure Trojan,Deka, and even Exide as poor as they are wouldn't be using labels.They may make lesser batteries for other brands.but no label shuffeling.

A good grade Marine Battery has different style plates to withstand the pounding of a boat. That is probably why the gel and solid cores last longer, but then they cost 2-3 times as much.
