does anyone know of any company that makes the lower profile windscreens or how to do this?
I have attached a link but Im not sure if it will work whilst the site is undergoing work.

this is the style of windscreen I would love to get for my boat. if you know of a way to cut the original one down or of a manufacturer that makes them that would be great

Depends on your frame, you & your saw. I don't think I'd want to try & free-hand it w/ a hacksaw &/or a plastic miter box. There are cut off wheels for a 4.5" grinder, an air powered cut off tool, and others that you can probably use too. I wouldn't try to cut the new miters w/ out a chopsaw w/ a fence & a clamp, and it will still leave a burr that will need to be filed. Some frames have corner brackets internally, that are press fit. Other brackets are riveted, and some have a kind of dimpled recess that acts like a rivet w/out the through hole (does that make sense..??..). My windshield brackets are screwed through from the front.

If you can get it apart and have a way to reassemble it (you could probably through drill for rivets even if it wasn't assembled that way originally) a metal shop nearby might cut it down for you

thanks jb. my last bayliner had the internal brackets tigged in, so the frame was basically a 3 piece. I see what your saying about the dimpled recess. after i posted that last message I had a better look at the Ocean dynamics site. I think i can see some expensive freight coming my way

The last 1 I saw on a thread here, was about 2/3 shipping (1/3 each way) and 1/3 new windshield. That's rough, but close enough to know you're right....

If you really want a 2008 Glastron windshield, this may not work, but in VIC, there are 'probably' a few places to look for our favorite term over at the iBoats dry dock:

DONOR BOAT !!!
<<--- I think oops does really well w/ insurance & auction boats. Call some insurance companies & see who's junked what lately...And where they sent the hulls. You might find a boat headed into the landfill that might work......Several people have stalked the recycling yards for tinny boats to rehab, the owner would sell it for it's weight in scrap aluminum...

Or wander through some boats for sale online or in a boatyard/marina & see if you find something similar that might work. Then try & find specs online for dimensions, and compile a list of possibles, and dig in., it may take awhile......

Best of luck

HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA I WISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lols there is really no such thing as a donor boat in aus that would do the trick. I would spend more buying the boat to get the windscreen than what i paid for my boat. lols all i can say is check out this link to see what i mean.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1991-Whi...pt=AU_Boats&hash=item3370a38bfd#ht_500wt_1413

our prices are ridiculous. haha add to that nothing gets junked in the boating world unless it was eaten by godzilla.
I def understand what your saying tho. it would be good if that worked here. maybe i could pm oops and ask him to keep an eye out for a windscreen?

DUH I missed the Australia and was thinking Vancouver, BC...Yeah, it's time I gotta go......oops might, but the shipping overseas will be 4 or 5X the windscreen... and the 1 I was talking about was $375+/- just for the windscreen. shipping 2ways was almost $700 domestic here in the US...And there is always some risk of damage.......

Look around, especially on the go fast boat forums. Somewhere online today at work I read a thread on another forum about a guy buying a plex/lexan windshield fab table/machine/setup from someone in the upper mid-west. He needed some help dragging it back to Georgia. Looked like a nice setup, his post showed a boat he'd done that had a super dark short wrap around 1pcs that looked like one of those 80's boats on the original Miami Vice cigarette boats....

i mean this may give you an idea.

and hey well if this doesn't make you cry or at least laugh then i don't know what will haha

Yeah i mean if i pay a couple of grand for a windscreen im not too fussed. but if i can get the frame i can get one of the mobs down here to make a lexan or plexi glass to go in it.

i don't even know where to start looking in the states for a marine wreckers that would deal with that stuff to be honest?

You might try the places listed here. It was posted in a Johnson motor forum, but still may have what you need if price of shipping isn't a factor.

Re: who makes custom windscreens for bowriders?

thanks jb, I have sent them all an email so heres hoping i get a reply.

ocean dynamics have already sent a reply. they can make the frame and powder coat it for me, then all i have to do is get the lexan cut down here. seems doable. but i have to hunt down someone who can put the curves in for me. so far no luck on my end
