Condie would make about as good a Pres as our current one...which is to say, terrible. At least she can speak in complete sentences.

You may not believe this, but in a lot of ways, I like Newt. His ideas on the UN are intriguing, and he is one smart guy. I don't agree with everything he says, but then there in no one I do agree with 100%.

I personnaly cannot imagine why anyone would wish to be president anymore :)
that in itself shows some of the candidates are not well balanced.
but we will vote again in 08 then fight amonst ourselves about it till 2012 and repeat the process all over again :) .

its kinda like growing up though, it was ok to give or recieve a bloddy nose from or to a sibling. we would fight like mad with each other. but let someone outside start something and the fights went side by side, till we were home again, then it was fighting with each other :) .
brings back fond memories.

It’s a job, and someone has to do it. The people that we see aspire to the presidency are career politicians. The presidency is their career path. It has nothing to do with wanting to right a wrong, serve the people, whatever. The Bush family played the game, paid their dues, and were rewarded with their party’s support, even to the point that some Repubs did not run against a Bush because it was their ‘turn’.

Consider Bill Clinton. He has never had a real job, always existed on the backs of tax payers. Until he term limited out of the White House, he never owned a home, always lived in public housing (the Governor’s Mansion, the White House, etc). Never had a real job, and now he is posturing to rule the world (in his mind), er, I mean head up the UN when Coffee Anon is out.

It’s business, big business. In these modern times, no one severs in the Senate that is not a millionaire. A couple have gotten in that were just under that bar, but they we well into the millions when they left the Senate. A study of Senator’s investment portfolios showed excessive profiting that was well beyond the realm of typical investing. Every single Senator, no exception. The conclusion was that is only possible with insider trading knowledge, but it can never be proven because the Senators gave themselves a rule they do not need to disclose their investment portfolios for review except one or two times a year.

18rabbit
shame on you for infering the Bush family or any member of senate or congress would use public office for personal gain. I am agahsts, shocked, transmorgafied even. 50 lashes with a wet noodle :) :) .
however seems you are right.
seems quite a few of our politicians cant make it honestly in the real world, our current president has an MBA, look at all the sucessful business's he has started, bought into and sold while they were profitable.
clinton either of them, have been public scabs just like the kennedy family and a few others. but its just my opinion.
I would not run for it.
