Why are the forum viewing numbers way down?

Is it just my imagination or are the viewing numbers way down since the "blackout"? Used to be a couple of the forums had viewing numbers in the 150 to 225 range but now they are around 50 or so. Maybe some folks can't get past the new security system?

like me - after a day or two or trying without luck.... you just loose the addiction slightly [once the cold sweats dissipate] :redface: Comes back fast enough after reading so much good info!

the lurkers and non-iboatsOCD'ers will be back - but will take a few days or weeks (especially with the busy weeks around labor day/school startup)

This info came from the what's going on section of the forum. Go to the index page http://forums.iboats.com/forum.php and scroll down near the bottom just after the manufacturers forums. You can see who is online, and how many.
Now, last night at 11:15 PM (my time) there was only 130 total online, and within a few minutes it jumped to over 6000. Get the idea?
There was not a sudden increase in the number of humans at that time.

There are currently 691 users online. 140 members and 551 guests
Most users ever online was 6,834, Yesterday at 11:24 PM.

So apparently the entrance passcode scramble thing....isn't working to well. :-/

if it isnt working so well, that would REALLY suck...because I just had to go through 6 post the letters to get in sequence and I just about said forget it..... I typed the exact sequence three times in a row and it kept giving me the same sequence, then finally it gave me a NEW sequence.......it sucks thats for sure

Administrators/Moderators on a forum with a world wide membership face some pretty stiff challenges .... I serve in that type capacity on a forum unrelated to boating and have to applaud the folks who keep an eye on things around here .... finding a balance where unwanted posters are controlled without making it extremely cumbersome for solid members is not an easy task and I hope the folks here fully appreciate the effort that goes into keeping a community like this on solid ground
