why not an metal impeller ??

is this not thought of before to use a metal impeller on the outboards instead of rubber kind that we have to replace over and over!?

metal on metal needs lube ..... oil and water doesn't go together .........

Also at higher rpms,the fins (blades) collapse and it becomes a centrifigal (sp) pump,since the impeller is not centered in the housing.
