Re: Why wasn't this reported daily

I assume you're talking about the nutjob that shot his estranged wife as she sang at a nightclub. I guess that's in a little different category in that the shooter wasn't an attention-seeking suicidal nutjob, just a jealous suicidal nutjob. But I suppose I see your point. It's often debated that a pretty white girl that's gone missing gets wide media attention while a plain black girl barely gets any coverage at all. So suddenly its a "Black" thing. It isn't! It's a "Pretty" thing. It's all about Ratings. It has far less to do with Agenda. And that's not a favorable mark on our society either. :(

So you prefer a Propaganda Machine over a Free Press, RF?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not pleased with telejournalism either. The closest thing we have to good journalism is with Public TV and Radio, and those leave a bit to be desired too. By thier nature, I find them to be liberal-biased. I think CNN is as close to good telejournalism as we have right now. But both of those are fringe MSMs. (I group CNN with fringe because they're cable and not public airwaves.)

So what is your source for non-biased comprehensive full-coverage news? Is there any such thing?

There is not a single 'one stop' source: Willy! That is the beauty of the situation today. Fox is the closest on the tube but also flawed, (just much less then all the others); hence: the growth in market share. I use the net, many newspapers, n' talk radio. The feed back loop generally will give ya a fairly reasonable picture, but sometimes you n' others may spank me and make me use the ol' brain cell ta ponder n' research further. So: go figure! I watch MSM n' read their carp too Willy! JR ps: Mr. Tree jus' spanked me weak memory about ol' Joe McCarthy on this very thread!!

Wrong: Bro. When the Libs' Judges rewrite the 'livin breathin' 20 page document to vest all the rights our Fore Fathers gave us with their blood, n' our soldiers have allowed us to thus far retain with their blood with BIG NANNY GOVERNMENT n' pass laws to outlaw individual gun ownership n' break down the doors of the citizens to confiscate 'em only the BAD GUYS WILL HAVE GUNS. Ya really think a nut berger like this guy would obey a law about gun corntrol? Yer jus' likely pullin' yer slow Bro's leg again. Respectfully, JR :D:D

Willy, I thought about this challenge that you made last night, and couldn't resist one more shot at yer troll.

When I entered the securities business in 1982 there were only two papers with a reasonable news flow that was relatively non biased, (or at least not openly so), that was easily available to me fer a daily or weekly read; The WSJ n' Barrons. I also read other mags n' newspapers but the hard Left bias in most of 'em was obvious from my perspective. Then talk radio started to take off in the mid 1980s and I, (and other Cornservatives) had a second feedback loop to process current events through, (great stuff). The internet was the real break through watershed event in the late 1980s n' early 1990s where reading dozens of newspapers around the world makes it realitively easy to be fairly well informed.

Most retail financial advisors don't last very long if they lack credible information. Can you imagine a wealthy person, (who are usually fairly smart n' informed people, especially those: active in investments), keeping their investment account with an uninformed stock or bond broker? I'll bet Rubber's brokers, (if he chooses to employ one as he may do it all himself), are fairly well informed or Rubber would take his account to Scottrade.

By keeping myself fairly well informed, and cornsuming loads of MSM in attempting to stay informed, I could tell in the mid to late 1990s that the Fox news channel was MUCH better then all the others. Brent Hume almost always touched on all the news I had already learned during the day, where ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN would not. The other four were almost always on the same Liberal talking points and would NOT REPORT significant items that were not popular in their own news rooms. Fox also covered that Liberal adjenda as well but did not emphasize the Liberals side just put it out there along with the news that the Libs edited out; ("we report you decide", is actually what they really do).

The internet finally really asserted itself by calling Dan Rather on his obviously false adjenda driven GWB reporting. That is why I luv the current situation in the media as opposed to what there was in 1965.

In the late 1960s there was a 'single source' mindset that you still seem to cling to. Walter Cronkite was and is VERY hard Left and helped the Democrats help the Communists win in the mid 1970s in Vietnam. LBJ was far worse then Nixon by any measure, yet the MSM brought Nixon down with the reporting of a third rate burglary, where LBJ openly lied about the Gulf of Tonkin and was not tarred nearly as much. That was our darkest hours as a Country in modern times where the MSM had a big part in it, n' their pals the MSM helped bring us down too. (A President forced to resign n' defeat for America in a war where our former allies were slaughtered, n' total Democrat domination of Congress n' the Executive branch).

The MSM today is badly broken and steadily loosing market share, (short play anyone). They, (MSM), and the Dems desparately want a replay of the mid 1970s which is quite obvious that they are following that old 1970s play book. The reasonable news outlets are gaining market share. Even though Fox News is very good, I prefer both Liberal and Cornservative bias and the open debate on talk radio and here on forums like this where there is a free and open exchange of ideas that yer Liberal n' Democrat pals want to stop: ASAP. I bet they can't. Sorry fer the rant but you put the quarter in me!! Respectfully, JR
