Will a 9.9 cover fit a 15 hp motor?

A friend has a 3 yr old Mercury 15 hp motor and wants to use it on a lake with a 9.9 motor limit. He wants to buy a new 9.9 cover to replace the old one. Will the 9.9 cover mount on the 15 hp motor? and what is the approximate cost of the cover?

With the sparse info you gave and looking at top cowls for the same year motors, yes it fits. Only $550.00 plus tax, shipping, fines and court costs.

Boy here where I live, if they catch you doing that, they confiscate the boat, motor and hand you a real hefty ticket to boot, if found guilty, then your fishing and hunting privileges are suspended for 3 years. What is really bad is those privileges are also suspended in the other 38 states we can agreements with.
