Will engine run faster after break-in

Will 6 hp four stroke run any faster after break-in period?<br />Ran it full throttle for 30 seconds during the 4th hour and it did not seem too much better than 3/4 speed. Wondering if it runs better at full-throttle once 10 hour breakin is done.

Maybe this doesn't apply, but my Briggs and Stratton 4-cycle ran 100% from day one, then started to lose power after the 8th time I was out. I could do about 15mph in a jonboat, now it struggles to get 13.5 GPS.
