I have a 2003 Fisher bass boat that had a 40 HP Mercury 4 stroke on it. I want to remove that motor and replace it with a '97 Mariner 75 HP 2 stroke from my pontoon boat. Will the 2003 4 stroke controls work on the 1997 2 stroke motor?

I was thinking of doing the swap myself but I will take it to my mechanic if I chicken out or if I need new controls.

Thanks.

what i would do if i were you is go on the iboat.com web site and compare the control cables.... if im not mistaken the controls dont mean much, they will work on pretty much any motors as long as the cables can fit....

for johnson motors there are 2 types of cables.... pre-1979 and post 1979 .. im not sure whats the deal for mercury

good luck
