Hello all,
I have been searching for a new engine for a while now and I came across a good deal on a 1999 Yamaha 75hp. Right now I have a 1981 Evinrude 90hp V4 and I was wondering if the transom holes were going to line up on the two engines. I've heard mixed opinions on the matter so I was just trying to get the most feedback possible. Thanks alot.

don't count on it. but no big deal, fill the existing holes, and drill new ones.

They both use the ABYC standard mounting pattern.

Re: Will the mounting holes line up??

Hey thanks for getting back to me. If they both use that standard pattern then I'm guessing that they will line right up. Is this correct? Hopefully they will, but if they don't, what is the best stuff to use to fill the preexisting holes? I built the transom a few years ago out of two layers of 3/4'' marine grade plywood and the boat is an aluminum hull. Thanks again for the help.
