Hi Folks I have a 1996 VP 4.3L Vortec V6 with the Holley 4V. Does anyone know if the Fuel Injection from a 2003 GXI will bolt on. It is on Ebay and is described below. My engine info is as follows

4.3L GS
4110131949
SN# 386B186

Item #180208533577

Up for auction is a used Volvo Penta throttle body fuel injection system. It is in like-new condition.

This came off a 2003 4.3 GXI engine - the engine had less than 20 hours on it at the time. Includes all the hardware needed to convert a carbureted engine to EFI - provided the correct intake manifold is on the engine.

Included with the auction:

* Throttle Body Assembly
* Fuel Pump Vapor Assembly
* Engine Wiring Harness
* Thermostat Housing with Coolant Sensor
* Oil Pressure Sensor
* ECU module

For specific application questions, please email me the serial number and I can help determine if it will fit your motor.

Assuming both motors have vortec heads should be no problem. May have to mess around with little stuff but should work.

It will probably work.

It probably won't work well though. Does the newer engine have the same camshaft, compression ratio, heads, etc?

It probably won't be a simple bolt-on. You'll probably need a Volvo compatible scan tool to set it up too.

Without the correct cam, it may be problematic.

Also, if you think you're going to get a noticeable HP and performance change, you'll probably be disappointed.

There's a LOT of Volvo experience on here....maybe someone has already tried this.

Good luck,

Rick

I was not hoping for more power but just a smoother running engine that requires less tuning.
