i have a 96 force by merc 75hp on my 18 foot bass tracker boat now.i am taking this motor off and putting it on a nitro 700lx bass boat.the nitro is 17.9 feet long and i believe weights about 600lb more then the tracker.i am not sure of the pitch prop i have now but will this prop work on the new boat or will i most likely have to change props.it is a alum. prop on it now.thanks for any thoughts.i am running around 4800 rpm with it now on the tracker fully trimed out.

Re: will this prop still work??????

You need to find out what your motor's optimal RPM range is....and then prop it accordingly. At 4800rpms, I'm guessing that you're already quite a bit OVERpropped already. Your optimum rpms are probably around 6k, but that's just a guess.

You'll have to help with the description of the Nitro.
If its a 17 ft it isn't likely 600 lbs. If glass it probably has a faster bottom than the Tracker.
The best way to figure out the prop is to do test runs with your present prop.

Re: will this prop still work??????

OP said that it was 600lbs heavier than the Tracker.

No, he said he 'believed' it was 600# heavier, which leaves the door open that he doesn't really know, not that it's germane.

Install the motor and run it. If RPMs are in an acceptable range, go for it. If not, get another prop ...
