Hi all,<br />I just had a 1979 or 80 70hp mercury given to me. Serial (5465899). It doesn't have the power tilt or trim. I was wondering if I could change the transom brackets with a 1987 or 88 merc Serial (OB394641) 45/50hp with power tilt and trim. The 45 hp merc is on my bass tracker boat. The 70 sat for 8 years, luckily the guy ran the gas out of it. All I had to do to get it running was give it gas, it fired right up, idles nice too. I hope these are interchangable. Any help at all would be great. Thank you in advance.
