Re: will this work?

Just picked up a 10hp Evinrude I won on ebay for $163. Upon visual inspection, it looks very clean. Will need to start it in spring to see if there are any issues. Just a question, I need to know if my current shop manuals cover this motor, so I need to know the year. Does anyone know the year for serial number 10012-10626?

I just got outbid on a 10hp evinrude and lost it. It whent for 250.00

Re: will this work?

I wanted to convert this to a fuel pump system. I've seen a few different ways of doing this for different horsepower motors. However, I was wondering if the method in the following link would work for my model motor?

4.0l Sahara,

Yeah, I've been looking all over the place for a decent priced 10hp in this era, but they were all going for $300+ for "running" motors. The auction said that this was last run last year, but I'll have to see how it runs. I expect to do some work, but the motor is not locked up, and though I didn't test the compression, it seems to have good compression on the cylinders. The gears shift well and when I pull the rope in gear, the gears seem to rotate the propeller in the right directions. The motor is very clean and the original paint is not worn considering the age of this motor. Hope you can find a good deal.
