I'm fairly new to boating and I own a Starcraft Islander. My question is this. I would like to install a windlass on the bow of my boat and into the cabin area but how do I handle the water that comes in with the anchor line?

What I would think, is you will have to build a small locker to hold the chain and rode, at the same time install a 1/4 inch drain hose to the outside of the hull.
I would go with at least 1/2" drain diameter (ID). All kinds of crud comes up with the anchor rode. Mine's a 1/2" and I have to clean it out now and then.
