...The same goes to transducer cone angles. Everyone rates the cone angles of their transducers at 10db. HB uses 3db which produces a cone angle typically twice the 10db rating.

You may have the 3 and the 10 reversed.
Humminbird specifies -10db cone angle which are wider than the -3db cone angles.
