winter light

I can sure tell winters on the way as the days are getting shorter. In summer on the longest day the sun starts rising at 3.30 am, and last light is about 10.50 pm.
Now I start seeing light at about 6.15am and its gone by 7.00 pm.
and it will only get shorter, and shorter over the next few months.
How long does the light last in the southern US, Florda, SC, Texas ETC, ln December.

Today:
Sunrise: 7:00am
Sunset: 6:14pm

Winter Solstice:
Sunrise: 6:54am
Sunset: 4:47pm

Summer Solstice:
Sunrise: 5:41am
Sunset: 8:07pm

So we range from slightly under 10 hours to over 14.

I am going to claim I know all of your day lengths on the Equinoxes (Equini???) . . .

It would be interesting to see which members have the widest swing and the least.

Yep, South Georgia righ now has Sunrise about 7:30am and set about 6:50pm, roughly... So a little under 12 hour light a day...

Very cool site Qc-
I did the search to Vernon BC which is about 40 miles south and their shortest day is the dec 21, of course 7.53am/3.53pm, but the longest day is the first of july, 4.48am/9.11pm.
now I know that I am 1500 feet higher in elevation and 40 miles north and the light does get to us longer than there in the summer and probably longer in the winter due to the elevation.
But I can remember playing football at 3.00 am on the 21st of june on the shore of the bearing sea.
We were there at the dew line site in tuktoyaktuk on excercise, and its weird when you have 24 hours of light.
