Winterize a Non-Running Engine?

Normally I simply winterize my engine (mercury 2 stroke) by running it out of gas, then fogging the engine.
This year, my engine died out on the water with zero spark. I haven't had time to look in to it beyond forum posts at this point. Winter is around the corner, so I need to winterize this thing. Is there an "easy" way I might be able to do this? I really don't want to remove all three carbs to drain them. If I disconnect the fuel line and crank away, will that suck all the fuel out?
I want to have the same amount of engine problems next spring, not more :D

Pull the spark plugs and spray fogging oil into the cylinders and carbs. Turn the flywheel a few times to distribute the fogging oil, replace the spark plugs.

Now drain and refill the gearoil, grease the steering rod and swivel and tilt fittings.

rinse and spray the powerhead with anti corrosion stuff.

2-stroke oil is a great stabilizer of fuel since it has a carbon chain in it. as Chris stated, stand it on end, pull the plugs and spray some oil in the cylinders and lube the other things.
