Ok ran the boat all is good.

Side note one stikin fish, weakfish 17"

Weather man just said under 30's tonight.

Draining my engine and manifold right after i post this.

I posted this cause i don't want to start reading about all the frozen cracked motors on boats that the guys who didn't drain there motors.

sounds like the thing to do to me.

i've drained mine twice so far this fall. both times it only got close to freezing. but better safe than sorry.....

I have an outboard but sadly enough, its that time of year. We're in for 29-30 degrees overnight tonight but they're calling for mid 70s for Fri/Sat/Sun

Let's not confuse things, that is not "Winterizing" that's just draining the block and manifolds so it doesn't freeze. This is Winterizing.

Don s of course is right, i should have said drain the block and manifold now!

The oil and all the other goodies i do on the last lay up. I ain't taking no freekin chance that my motor freezes.

Hey Chief, The Belmar, NJ forcast calls for mid 40's tonight. I would be surprized if the Manalapan forcast was for a hard freeze.

Well, draining the manifld and block is goog practice. I presume you trailer your boat? If not, the water is still 60+ and will keep the motor fom freezing.
