winterizing a 1985 50 hp evinrude vro

pulled the boat and going to fog the motor before it goes to sleep for the winter.should i leave the vro line connected to the motor all winter?if not what should i do? thanks

I leave mine connected. If you do disconnect it, run 50:1 premix after you reconnect when you start it next season, verify the VRO is working by checking the oil tank level going down with use. The extra oil won't hurt anything and is factory recommended procedure any time the VRO is disconnected.

If you are not removing the motor from the boat,I see no reason to remove the oil line. Pour some Stabil in the gas and run it long enough to reach the carbs and you will be fine.
