Sooo...what does that mean for me? Seems to run fine. Sounds good and quiet. No leaks. No water in oil.

it means you didnt do your homework prior and you bought someones frankensteined together mess

the manifolds were not winterized in its past and someone did a patch job, with what appears to be brazing rod

it may last a day, it may last a year.

I would buy new manifolds and elbows myself.

while at it, see if the block has similar patching.

I did the best I could with online searches and forums. Most advice was about checking the transom and stringers and floors for rot, compression test, bellows, test drive, etc, but honestly there wasn't a lot when looking at a 30 year old boat. I got it for well below market price. I do know the motor was rebuilt and has a different block than it was originally sold with. There is no place for a mechanical fuel pump anymore, and I had a bit of an issue with dealing with that mess this year. I bought it from a guy who had limited knowledge of the boat as he had only owned it a few years and bought it from his cousin who owned it a few years before that. Our budget was low (we wanted to pay cash), and this one fit right in it. You live and learn I guess. I will look for similar markings on the block. At least I have a winter to decide if I want to dump $300+ on manifolds next season..
