Wires below water level in exhaust housing for electric shift..

I found more wire problems with my 65 electric shift. The wires in the exhaust housing were partially clipped, but still working. When I hook them back together is there something I should use to make a water tight seal? Or should I not worry about it.

I would use a heat shrinked cover.

I would use a heat shrinked cover. The original was an interlocking connector at each end with a sliding rubber tube to cover them once connected.

Thanks for the help. I looked right at the liquid tape while buying wires and connectors and did not think about using it. I tried the shrink tubing and it would not shrink down tight so I went back to the store and got the liquid tape, put on two coats to be safe.
