Does anybody have a wiring diagram for my 97’ Force 75HP? Looking for the Tachometer circuit. Tach on dash jumps around and doesn’t seem accurate. Does this seem like a motor tach part problem or dash or wiring?

I could be wrong on this, but I believe that there is a tap off the rectifier/regulator (gray wire if I remember correctly) that feeds pulses from the charging coil to the tach.
This (if the same as a 1995 Sport Jet) has 20 pulses per rev. I cannot say for sure what your 1997 75 hp is.
That being said the problem is most likely a wiring problem or loose connection in the tach if the engine is charging the battery.

Redbarron you are correct. The rectifier only has four wires: two yellow from the trigger, red to +12, and gray to the tach. I put a cheap rectifier on my 95 and my tach was real flakey. Replaced it with a CDI and it's rock solid.

By the way you can connect one pole from the coil directly to the tach and that signal will work as well.
It works from the pulse frequency and not voltage.

All good but....

That motor has a 12 pole stator, so can use the common 12 pole tach.
