I have a 16.5' runabout and am trying to get my bow and aft light that are control by a switch on the steering panel to work. And I would also like to get my lighter rec. hooked up. The previous setup up went straight to my battery and I pulled it out because of corrision. Now I'm stuck and don't know how to get all three working and don't feel like burning wires(including my carpet) or burning out fuses left and right. Any suggestions on how to do this here's a diagram.

bow light
______
I
I
lighter _____ I switch
I
I
I
I
to battery.

I'll give it a shot:

From Battery - (negative terminal) black wire to

lighter to

bow lite then red wire + to

switch to

lighter to

fuse to

battery +

That will give you pwoer to the lighter at all times and the bow light will work only with switch closed. Don't forget the fuse.

You could also put in a power block with fuses so you can run one positive and one negative to console. From there split out to individual accessories such as lights and lighter.
