Wiring in new LCD 12 volt Tv and 12 volt digital top box

Hi Guys .looking for advise please .I have a 20 inch LCD TV12 volt and a 12 volt Digital top box i am wanting to install in my 27 ft wellcraft. I want to wire them directly to the the House battery I want to connent both 12 volt units to one cable and then to the house battery What size power cable should i install also do i need somthing for spike protection and any other advise please The amp draw for both 12 volt units is 8 amps .Also What would be the best sort of battery to run both units

you need a wire rated for the load, and length or the pull. definitely need an inline fuse of circuit breaker, and a deep cycle battery.

You need the largest capacity deep cycle battery you have room and budget for. If you are out for a week end or longer you will need two of them. Do you have shore power for recharging? Do you mean the total draw for both units is 8 amps? If so, how is that load split (6A for the TV and 2A for box for example) or some similar number. If that's the case, you should fuse the box and the tv lines separately because of the difference in draw. Fusing a single line for 8 or 10A load when the box only draws 2A means the wire sizing on the box may get hot and melt before the fuse blows.
