I have a 1988 mako 261 with 1989 twin yamaha 200. it has 3 batteries but the only thing i can get to work is the lights, radio, 2-way, and gps. only one gauge is coming on and i can only get the starboard side motor to give one click and wont turnover, the port side has nothing at all. i cant get the tilt and trim to work or the trim tabes to work. i just purchesed the boat since its a really nice boat and for a good price, i was hoping it was an easy fix with the battery cables but thats not it, i would like to get 1 and hopefully 2 seasons out of the motors since i cant afford to replace them right now. whats the chance of both of the motors taking a dump and the same time? thanks erik

what ya need to do is get a copy of the wireing diagram in the rigging guide. I leave for venezuela in the AM but I will try to follow this.
but ya need to post a drawing .
think of this as water in a pipe.
almost sounds like you have missed some ground wires.
