To all those who want to know more about propellers in theory and practise:<br /><br />Quicksilver sells a 55 page booklet called 'Everything you need to know about propellers'. <br /><br />Even though they're focusing on their own range of products, it is very good and explanatory for all.<br /><br />Fourth edition (1992) is P/N 90-86144-92. In this booklet is says 'for a copy of this book contact you dealer or send check/money order for $5 to Quicksilver Propeller Book, P.O. Box 3900, Peoria, IL 61614'.

I've made a complete scan. In good quality jpg it's 55 pages plus intro and index. Makes up 16mb..<br /><br />I'll mail you one if you want. On a modem 16mb is a bit of a job. It's no difference to me as I'm online 24h anyway.

I finally managed to get the Propeller book thing working.<br /><br />Visit http://users.cybercity.dk/~ccc53569 to view the book.<br /><br />On this page you will even find a reference to <br /> http://users.cybercity.dk/~ccc93391 <br />from where you can download the full file containing one jpg. file per scanned page.<br /><br />It is a total of 8.8 mb and much better suited for printing as the quality is better.

Yes, it's pretty good. Initially my aim was to put it up in high-resolution pics, but this ended up in way too big files. <br /><br />I also made a scan into text, and that saved a lot of space. The pictures suffered severely, though, and they really are important to get the most out of the book.<br /><br />One thing is that I had to find (free) space for it, another that even dial-up users should have a chance to view it before actually starting the download.<br /><br />I've added a small spreadsheet for speed/prop estimation - based on Mike Guckins template (separate thread), also to download from the site.

Most welcome, ae708!<br /><br />Maybe it's just me, but I think the info contained in the book is so great, every boater should read it. It tells a lot more than just it's main issue - 'Props'. Bunch of good info on hulls, terminologies, how and why things are done the way they etc. etc.
