Won't maintain fuel pressure

When the boat sits for greater than 6-8 hours, I lose fuel pressure in the fuel line. It won't start and I have to re-prime using the bulb. My buddy has the same engine and he doesn't have to use the bulb if his sits for 2-3 weeks!

I have replaced the fuel lines from the tank to the throttle bar assembly. New primer bulb, new fuel / water seperator, double clamps on each connection. Still have the same problem. Now I'm thinking it could be the fuel pump diaphragm. Is that a wrong direction to take? Is it a replacable part? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Won't maintain fuel pressure

It is your buddie's system that is not normal, Fireman. It is normal for some leakage to occur through the bulb so that you need to pump it up after a few hours.

Stop wasting your money trying to make normal into perfect.
